The Barroc Café is more of a bar or lounge than a café. Due to its location in the Born, it attracts anyone passing by from locals to students to travelers alike. It’s easy to imagine the interior, based on the name. Red sofas combined with a lot of gold leafing and low lighting create a warm, relaxed yet palatial atmosphere. Sit amongst the red velvet, chandeliers, and cherub sculptures or step outside to the small terrace where one can sit back and observe the foot traffic of the Born. During the day they serve coffee, however later choose from a large selection of cocktails, beer, and wine. The music is usually electronica of some kind, depending on the bartender’s taste. In the back there is a dance floor with a more minimal design where guest DJ’s spin from time to time.
