Benidorm is a small lounge-bar located in the Raval, right on Joaquín Costa, a street with many cocktail houses, bars, and lounges, across from the MACBA museum. The first thing you may notice upon entering Benidorm is its interior design. The mix of second-hand furniture, decorative pieces from various time periods, and red wallpapered walls creates a funky atmosphere. Here, local DJ’s provide an excellent selection of music creating an aura of the underground at this local hangout. The door is usually kept closed, so to enter, just ring the bell. The clientele is mixed however mostly hipster. The DJ’s change nightly. They usually spin anything between 80’s alternative, rock & roll, electro-clash, or electronica. This is a great bar for relaxed conversation over a drink while enjoying good music and the general kitchy-ness of this velvety red den.
