Bermibau was the first non-traditional bar to open in the Born in 1976. Since then it has specialized in serving excellent, tasty Brazilian-style cocktails with lots of fresh fruit. From the interior its difficult to tell which continent you are on. In fact, it really feels like you could be in a small coastal town in Brazil, anytime between 1940-1970. This place is classic, so classic that one can imagine Earnest Hemingway sipping a rum cocktaill on one of the ratan lounge chairs in the corner. The Born has several of these cocktail houses but the most authentic of all of them is the Berimbau Bar, a great place to stop before or after dinner with friends for a refreshing cocktail. There are also non-alchoholic versions. Ask for their specialty, a concoccion made from passion fruit.
