Moog is one of the most historically important Barcelona dance clubs for those interested in electronica music (electro-house, techno, drum ´n´base, hardcore techno). Although it’s a small space it has a big reputation for having hosted DJ’s such as Jeff Mills, Oliver Huntemann and Laurent Garner. It was also one of the first of its kind to open ten years ago just off the Ramblas. Even if you are not a techno aficionado you will still find this club entertaining. However, be aware that the on the weekends the place is packed solid after 1am and stays that way until 5am. The central space of the club, located downstairs where the main bar is, features the latest in electronic music. This is where one can find the resident DJ’s, Esther Robert X, Olmos, or Deckard, depending on the agenda. There are also regularly scheduled international guest DJ’s, many of whom have a significant reputation. The interior of the club, although small, is definitely inviting. Upstairs you will find another, smaller dance floor named “Villarosa” where a different DJ spins pop from the 70’s and 80’s. Wall-to-wall mirrors reflect the dance floor and might help you to practice your dance skills. The DJ himself seems that he has been practicing as well.
