Barcelona’s one and only Belgian bar has a superb selection of 40 Belgian top quality beers as well as the two most important local brands, Estrella Damm and Moritz. If your plan to visit for a taste of Belgian beer, they’ve got Stella, Leffe and Hoegaarden on tap. Enjoy happy hour from 6pm-8pm on weekdays. Here the vibe is fantastic, charismatic and friendly. The staff is multilingual and the music selection is extremely varied (anywhere from the latest in hip-hop to classical music). The atmosphere at Belchica is dynamic, creative and very international. There are regular Dj and Vj performances, art exhibitions, jazz performances and theatre. Also free access to Internet and main sports events projected onto the wall in the back room. Belchica is a home away from home for many people who live in Barcelona but are originally from elsewhere. The best way to describe Belchica would be to say that it’s an “art pub” with a young intellectual salon-like atmosphere. Enter at your own risk; you too may easily become a regular.
