Favela Chic has become one of the city’s nocturnal hotspots over the years. This bar is one of the last bastions of a time between the 1920’s and 70’s when Montparnasse was frequented by artists and writers who came to rue Delambre for a nightcap. A totally psychedelic bar! The décor is 70’s down to every detail - circular globes, mirror balls, red, orange, yellow and purple walls and columns, large comfortable benches, retro pill shaped sofas. The Moloko bar in Stanley Kubrick’s Clockwork Orange springs to mind. It’s the only free place where you can dance the night away in Bastille, which probably explains the pricey drinks.
