Although it’s no longer the place it was in the 80’s, Banana Café remains a reference point in Paris for gay nightlife. Old French pop songs blast out of the sound system while enthusiastic drag -queens climb up onto the tables alongside micro-short clad gogo dancers who flex their pecs on the bar top. The decor is ultra kitsch mixing fluorescent lighting with glitter. Extravagant theme nights are a regular feature.
