From the outside Le Chat Noir looks like a rather boring and dark bar, but once you go inside you realise what a lively place it really is. They invite groups and musicians to play jazz, world music, American folk, Bolero or traditional North African rhythms several times a week in the basement. Although most of the musicians invited to play here are unknown the concerts are rarely disappointing and well worth the 8€. entry fee. They also hold regular African, Tango and Flamenco dance classes as well as plays performed by local theatre troops and film projections. Paintings, photographs and prints by local artists cover the walls on the ground floor. This bar can be described as a cultural centre in its own right attracting a very varied and open-minded clientele.
