Point Ephémère ![]()
The Point Ephémère is a multi-facetted and alternative venue in a pretty unique location- an old building materials warehouse on the Canal St Martin. It was created in 2004 as government subsidised legal squat with a limited number of years to stay open, as it is set to close down in 2008, but who knows. The space is divided up into various artist studios, a concert hall, a bar-restaurant, a gallery and an impressive canal-side terrace that is always packed during the summer months. The concerts range from international and local groups playing rock, hip-hop, grime, and electronica , as well as contemporary classical music, with the occasional all night club event organised by local promoters with an edge. There are also dance performances, exhibitions and cultural events.
