If there’s one bar that’s different from the others in the Oberkampf area, it’s Le Rosso. It’s discrete, very difficult to find even, if it wasn’t for a few pretty girls standing in front of the bar. People don’t come here by chance. Its popularity is through word of mouth but not through the 11th quarter network. It’s more you trendy types are freshly landed expats’ who frequent the bar. There’s always a laid back atmosphere and the music from electro to rock is always quality. There only needs to be thirty or so people for this intimate, stylish bar furnished with a few table and an attractive bar, to be rammed. The peaceful ‘apéro’ ambience quickly becomes festive and the cocktails (the best in area) start to flow. At closing time the barman, who also wants to have his fun, takes his remaining customers to the Baron on the other side of Paris. It’s his favourite bar/club - apart from Le Rosso of course.
